Assistant Fleet Scheduler

The Opportunity: As an Assistant Fleet Scheduler at Shredding on Site, you’ll play a critical support role in our fleet operations. Working closely with the Fleet Scheduler, you’ll help coordinate schedules, communicate with customers, and ensure smooth daily operations. Your contributions will directly impact our service efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with the Fleet Scheduler and sales team to confirm and finalize service schedules.
  • Communicate with customers to verify scheduling details and promptly handle reschedules.
  • Maintain and update dispatch software, including work order verification, to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist with optimizing delivery routes to improve efficiency.
  • Provide support to drivers with route changes, navigation, and coordinating loading and offloading.

Must-haves in a Candidate:

  • 1–2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or a related field, with scheduling or operational responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with dispatch software, spreadsheets, and computer skills, including accurate data entry.
  • Strong phone and in-person communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive and team-oriented mindset.
  • Understand and strictly adhere to confidentiality requirements.

Nice to Have in a Candidate:

  • Experience with driver scheduling and optimizing routes.
  • Mechanical / vehicle maintenance knowledge.
  • Versatility to support other areas of the business when required.
